Default Woman Dies in Her Cubicle — But Nobody Notices Until the Next Day

Woman Dies in Her Cubicle — But Nobody Notices Until the Next Day
    By: Zoe Fox

Ever feel like no one notices all the effort you put into your job?
Well, hopefully they at least notice you're alive and breathing. If not, you could find yourself in the same situation as Rebecca Wells, a 51-year-old woman who died in her cubicle Friday in Los Angeles County.

Though she died on Friday, she was unnoticed at her desk in the Department of Internal Services until Saturday. The county coroner is yet to determine the cause of death.

When she passed away, Wells, who worked in risk management, was performing an audit. Despite not noticing the deceased, one of her coworkers remembered, "She was always working, always working." Maybe, after this event, her coworkers will check on one another more often.

This is like the ultimate 'dis' :-O

...and what a sad comment on her co-workers (and prolly our society at large) that everyone is just so 'heads down'; and 'tunneled'; and 'tuned out'; and <insert euphemism for 'we just don't care about anyone but ourselves' here> :(

I just post what looks interesting as I'm wandering around the 'net. Credit always to the original scanner(s), capper(s), and or poster(s) of the content that I might put up here

True, but if she worked later then anyone, why would anyone know? If the clean-up crew saw her with her head down, do you wake her and get her pissed at you or do you leave her alone?

Morbid question. Wonder if her family will get her overtime for the night? Hey she was at her desk on the job.

It might be worth pointing out, at risk of spoiling your fun, that she worked in a block of cubicles that were remote from the other workers, no one else used any of those nearby cubicles and thus would not have know if she was there, alive or dead. So it's no wonder that she was discoverd late by the security guard doing his rounds and checking the lights.

Had they had the type of lights I once experienced where they auto-shut-off when there is no movement, she would still be there.
